Fulfillment Center Operations Manager

About the role:

Based at our fulfillment center in Upper Coomera, Gold Coast, we are seeking an experienced Fulfillment Centre Operations Manager to lead day to day management of the fulfillment center. This role is responsible for managing the largest team in the business while ensuring our high service levels continue to be met. The SurfStitch operation is primarily B2C, therefore most aspects of the role revolve around delivering the best service to our customers. This is a key role within the SurfStitch leadership team and one that greatly contributes to the overall success of SurfStitch through the creation of a great team environment combined with a strong focus on operational efficiencies.

The right candidate will be able to:

  • Foster and maintain a positive team and workplace environment.
  • Have the ability to develop, foster and nurture talent.  
  • Achieve a broad set of operational KPIs with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Work with, and refine where needed, existing operational processes.
  • Provide an exceptional level of service and communication to internal and external customers.
  • Manage effective employee development processes.
  • Provide effective leadership to operational managers.

You will have:

  • Certificate IV in Warehousing or similar
  • Solid experience in a similar role, managing over 100 staff,  in a 7 day a week business
  • Experience in coaching and leading your people through developing a strong team culture
  • Highly developed communication skills to deal effectively with a broad range of internal and external clients
  • Capacity to operate effectively in an environment of competing demands and external pressures
  • Qualities that support a strong work ethic, flexibility and adaptability within a team environment
  • High level problem solving and decision making ability
  • Advanced MS Word and MS Excel knowledge, along with relevant inventory system knowledge and other warehouse technologies
